Students from ITESM Visit Gilmore Group's NYC Studio
April 20, 2016
Hosting a group of industrial design students from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (or ITESM for short) after being contacted by Professor Angel Daniel Munoz Guzman was a great learning experience for everyone involved.
After a tour of the studio given by President & CEO Arthur Gilmore, they got to enjoy lunch and donuts during presentations given by best in the business.
The overall message to the excited students of this prestigious University was a simple one:
“Don't confine yourself to a single medium of design!"
To better understand what works and what doesn't, designers need to approach their work, whether it be a toaster or a jet aircraft with pencil and paper, foam-core, real materials, and yes, of course, computers too. Designers with proficiency in producing full scale mock-ups will be able to more dependably account for human-factors and be exceptional designers amongst their digitally-focused peers.
